Grateful Dead - Dark Star

Σαν σήμερα | 9 Αυγούστου 1995: Ο Αμερικανός τραγουδιστής, τραγουδοποιός και μουσικός Jerry Garcia (Jerome John Garcia 1942-1995) απεβίωσε σε ηλικία 53 ετών από καρδιακή προσβολή στο δωμάτιο του κέντρου αποτοξίνωσης όπου νοσηλεύονταν στην Καλιφόρνια. Είναι δημοφιλής για την συμμετοχή του στο συγκρότημα Grateful Dead από το 1965 μέχρι και το θάνατο του. Εκτός από τους Grateful Dead συνεργάστηκε με πολλούς καλλιτέχνες όπως Merl Saunders, David Grisman και δημιούργησε μπάντες όπως Old and in the Way, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Jerry Garcia Band κ.α. Δημοφιλή τραγούδια του: "Dark Star", "Uncle John's Band", "Sugar Magnolia", "Good Lovin'", "Touch Of Grey" κ.α. Το όνομα του γράφτηκε στο Rock and Roll Hall of Fame το 1994.
