"Whiskey in the Jar" Thin Lizzy

Το "Whiskey in the Jar" είναι ένα δημοφιλές παραδοσιακό ιρλανδικό τραγούδι, το οποίο τοποθετείται στις περιοχές  Cork και  Kerry, καθώς επίσης και στο Φένιτ, ένα χωριό της περιφέρειας του  Fenit. 

Το τραγούδι έχει επίκεντρο έναν »Rapparee», ο οποίος προδίδεται από τη γυναίκα του ή την ερωμένη του. Το τραγούδι αυτό είναι ένα από τα πιο πολυερμηνευμένα ιρλανδικά παραδοσιακά τραγούδια και συγκεκριμένα από τη δεκαετία του 1950 κι έκτοτε έχει υποστεί πολυάριθμες διασκευές. Οι ρίζες του τραγουδιού προέρχονται από το από το παραδοσιακό τραγούδι "The Highwayman and the Captain", το οποίο τραγουδιόταν ιδιαίτερα στα περίχωρα του Εδιμβούργου.
